Terms of Service
Last updated October 7, 2026.
These are the rules for using Melvin, the Discord bot, and its website, including the dashboard. Using either means you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use Melvin.
Discord comes first
Melvin lives on Discord, so Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply too. Anything they don't allow, Melvin doesn't either. That includes their age limit.
Using Melvin
Use it for what it's for. Don't:
- Use it to harass anyone, spam, or break the law.
- Make Melvin say things through
/speak, the AI, or a welcome message that you couldn't say yourself on Discord. What you make it say is on you. - Try to break it, overload it, or get around its limits, like the AI's hourly cap.
- Get into servers or settings you shouldn't have access to.
Found a bug that lets you do any of that? Report it in the support server instead. That's appreciated.
Servers
Whoever adds Melvin to a server is responsible for how it's set up there. Moderators are responsible for the moderation they do with it. Melvin carries out the kick, ban, or mute, but the call is theirs.
The AI
Answers come from an AI model. They can be wrong, out of date, or just strange. Don't rely on them for anything important, like medical, legal, or money decisions.
No guarantees
Melvin is free, and it's a work in progress. It's provided as is. It might go down, lose data, or change how something works, with or without warning. Its developers aren't responsible for any loss that comes from using it, as far as the law allows.
Ending things
You can stop using Melvin whenever you like, by removing it from your servers and logging out of the dashboard. Anyone who breaks these terms can be blocked from using it.
Privacy
What Melvin keeps and why is in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
These terms are a work in progress and will be improved on. When they change, the date at the top changes with them. Big changes will be announced in the support server. Using Melvin after a change means you accept it.
